FRIDAY-SUNDAY HOUSEKEEPER NEEDED // BEVERLY HILLS, CA


The Housekeeper, Los Angeles, CA, ensures the cleanliness of The Home of The Principals as well as the cleanliness and upkeep ofThe Principals personal clothing (clothes, undergarments, shoes, over garments). This position reports to the Junior Butler of Los Angeles for all issues resolution but is held directly accountable to The Principal. The Housekeeper has regular interaction with the Junior Butler, Estate Manager, Personal Chef and the Personal Affairs Manager. The core days for this position are Friday through Sunday.


Schedule: Friday-Sunday.


Salary: $30-35/hour, Health insurance reimbursement, PTO + Holidays.


​Qualifications​

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Some training in large household

maintenance is a definite plus.


Experience: A minimum of five (5) years’ related experience maintaining a large (3000

square feet or more) household.


Skills: Candidate will be mature in character, with good oral and written

communication skills. Must possess strong organizational ability and a

strong attention to detail. Must be familiar with the various and proper

household cleaning methods for a variety of surfaces (e.g. woods, marbles,

Formica, tile, porcelain, brass, silver, gold, stainless steel, etc.) Must be

familiar with the appropriate cleaning methods for various fabrics and other

clothing materials (e.g. wool, linen, cotton, rayon, silk, leather, nubuck, etc.).

Must possess own vehicle for personal use.


GENERAL

· Coordinates all deviations from standard workweek and/or leave requests through the Estate

Manager. Employee is responsible for clocking in and out on the time clock software. Any

changes that need to be made or mistakes are to be sent to the Estate Manager immediately,

as the Estate Manager will review and approve all time and leave by C.O.B. each Monday.

· Confers with the Junior Butler on all housekeeping related matters which cannot be resolved at​ ​his/her level.

· At the request of The Principal, the Household Manager and occasionally guests; may be asked to​ ​perform a variety of routine/personal duties directly in support of The Principal, which

include, but are not limited to; cooking forThe Principal in the absence of chef, grocery shopping

for RSH/AJN in the absence of Estate Manager, serving as host/hostess, bartender and/or

server in the absence of other domestic staff.

· At the request of The Principal or the Estate Manager, may be asked to drive The Principal in his vehicle​ ​​to appointments, shopping, the airport or other local destinations.


HOUSEHOLD MAINTENANCE

· Responsible for the immaculate maintenance of the Los Angeles residence including, but not​ limited to:

¨ Floors

¨ Counters

¨ Clothing

¨ Linens

¨ Furniture

¨ Personal effects

¨ Outdoor areas and surfaces

¨ Outdoor furnishings


· Responsible for the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the Los Angeles residence

(windows, floors, countertops, tables, moldings, headboards, frames, etc). Coordinates with

Junior Butler large-scale cleaning of exterior windows, walkways, doors, storage areas, etc.

Coordinates with Junior Butler, as needed, special cleaning of antiques and other costly works

of art and/or special collections.


· Receives at the Los Angeles residences, all service personnel scheduled to completed work

(phone, utilities, plumbing, interior repair, etc.). Ensures their timely completion of all agreed​ ​upon​ ​activities in the absence of Estate Manager. Ensures all service personnel have vacated

the premises within scheduled deadlines. ​

· Ensures the current stock of all supplies (personal, household, office, etc.) to be maintained at​ ​the residence based on lists prepared by the Estate Manager.


· In absence of Estate Manager, receives and handles all incoming faxes, FedEx packages or

other business correspondences and brings to Estate Manager, The Principals attention either

in person or by phone.


· In absence of Estate Manager or other staff, you should be prepared to answer telephone lines​ ​and take messages, including:

· Date and time of the message

· First and last name of the caller

· Telephone number with area code and extension, if applicable. Writes message or

“declined to leave number” as appropriate.


· Handles urgent calls in the following manner:

· If The Principal is on the line, write the caller’s name on a piece of paper. Tap twice on the door

and proceed into the room. Transfer the call to The Principal or follow his instructions on the

appropriate course of action.

· Ensures adequate office supplies are on hand in The Principals office prior to his arrival, to be

checked against a list to be provided by Estate Manager or Personal Assistant. ​

Housekeeper may, on rare occasions be asked to work at another location, such as other Los

Angeles residences, Laguna Beach or Palm Desert. Incumbent shall provide their own

transportation.


PERSONAL EFFECTS MAINTENANCE:

· Maintains the cleanliness and organization of The Principals clothes closets. On a daily

basis, as needed, removes empty hangers; organizes all articles of clothing including

underwear, neckties, shoes, belts, from right to left and arranged by color, light to dark:

White, Tan, Yellow, Green, Blue, Pink, Orange, Red, Burgundy, Purple, Brown, Grey, Black.

Maintains the clothes closet in two (2) sections: casual & dress. Hangs or folds all articles of

clothing precisely.


· Checks The Principals an’s toiletries frequently against the list provided by the Personal

Assistant. Apprises RSH’s Junior Butler and Estate Manager of items which have run

out and need to be replaced.


· Completes laundry as needed, ensuring that care instructions listed on labels are followed

exactly. Consults with dry​ ​cleaners on appropriate care of garment when label is not present.

Ensures that dry cleaning and laundry are taken in after each visit and picked up, returning to

The Principals closet. Ensures laundry is properly put away and not left downstairs. Ensures

sheets are separated into complete sets, tied with a ribbon, and put away in respective rooms.

· Coordinates the repair and/or refurbishment of The Principals clothes (i.e. sewing, tailoring and​ ​other alterations), shoes, (cleaning, replacement of heels, laces, soles, insoles, etc.) belts,

briefcases and other leather goods (cleaning, retooling, etc.).


· Performs other duties as assigned.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and use

hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Job duties require the employee to clean​ ​in awkward positions including while bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, crawling and twisting at​ ​the neck and waist and reaching with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move​​up to 25 pounds and carry such items up and down stairs and uphill and downhill between the​ ​driveway to the residence. Must possess a valid driver’s license with no moving or other traffic​​violations in the last five (5) years. Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, etc.
